pathway sharing#
pathway sharing allows you to share pathways between users of the same Ensemble instance.
Share a pathway#
- Open the pathway you want to share.
- Select Share.
- In Add users, find and select the users you want to share with.
- Select Save.
View shared pathways#
You can browse and search pathways on the pathways list.
- All pathways lists all pathways you can access. This includes:
- Your own pathways.
- pathways shared with you.
- If you are logged in as instance owner: all pathways in the instance.
- My pathways: pathways you created.
pathway roles and permissions#
There are two pathway roles: owner and editor. The owner is the user who created the pathway. Editors are other users with access to the pathway.
You can't change the pathway owner, except when deleting the user.
Credentials
pathway sharing allows editors to use all credentials used in the pathway. This includes credentials that aren't explicitly shared with them using credential sharing.

Node editing restrictions with unshared credentials#
Sharing in Ensemble works on the principle of least privilege. This means that if a user shares a pathway with you, but they don't share their credentials, you can't edit the nodes within the pathway that use those credentials. You can view and run the pathway, and edit nodes that don't use unshared credentials.
Refer to Credential sharing for guidance on sharing credentials.
